Dear friends of Boo Ibiza,

Hope you and your families are well.

While its magnetic party scene, idyllic landscapes and glorious weather are well known during summer months, Ibiza is just as, if not more magical, during autumn and winter where visitors and residents alike enjoy the island without the summer rush and crowds.

At this time of year, Ibiza’s laid-back natural beauty shines. The island is vibrant and colourful as local nature flourishes, paradisical beaches are deserted, the sun sets with a rich tapestry of warm colours and hidden natural coves are uncovered. The white and pink blanket of almond trees bloom, as do scented pine forests, olive and fig trees.

Picturesque villages in the North like Portinatx, Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera and Santa Agnes de Corona delight with traditional fishing harbours, olive groves, acres of fruit orchards and valleys, whilst Southern towns such as San Antonio bask in sunlight, with sea facing promenade cafés and views over the new Marina.

For a true taste of ‘authentic Ibiza’ this winter, scenic island hikes, paddle boarding in Cala Xarraca, discovering the mythical cove of Atlantis, and experiencing the north of the island on horseback with the Ibiza Horse Valley, are a must. Many of the island’s best restaurants and bars remain open and offer alfresco and feet in the sand relaxed dining.

Christmas and New Year is a magical time and one that’s a well kept secret. The cobbled streets are filled with festive markets, beautiful decorations cover shop windows, and trees and lights take center stage. Celebratory gifts are shared, family and friends enjoy long lazy days and roaring fires are lit.

My property portfolio currently holds 18t h-century fincas, beachside sanctuaries, classic Blackstad villas and private hilltop estates. One of the finest available for long term rent this winter, is Can Cielo, an oasis of true natural beauty. Totally secluded, yet only two minutes from the village of Santa Agnes, it is perfect for a group retreat, romantic couple’s hideaway or special celebration with family and friends. Comprising six bedrooms and six bathrooms, alfresco dining areas, large pool and terraces, and a cinema room… refined luxury meets comfort and style.

Can Bahia is a large 300 year old finca, located at the top of a hill, with countryside views and overlooking the bay of San Antonio with sea views. Private and gated, it offers extensive outside terraces, with two outdoor BBQs and three large chill outs in addition to a 14-metre swimming pool. This property has six bedrooms, four of which are en-suite. There are two master bedrooms, each with an extra independent living room. Wi-Fi, a Bose sound system and air conditioning are present throughout. Perfectly located, close to all the famous beaches and restaurants in the south west of the island, it is the ultimate location for a winter break.

Can Almendra combines three buildings and acres of land to create a 240,000m2 private estate. Located in the exclusive rural neighbourhood, Santa Agnes, it is the ideal property for those looking for the ultimate in privacy. The hill top main house is a mix of authentic-rustic- and modern-minimalist architecture and interiors. It offers three bedrooms and three bathrooms with stunning sea-views to the East and the West. Its surrounding terraced land is prepared for planting vines and the free standing, elevated pool gives sweeping 360-degree views over the island. Casita I and Casita II both offer additional accommodation for up to eight guests.

My final recommendation is Casa India, set peacefully in the woods just a few minutes from the cosmopolitan village of Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera. With its nurturing energy and secret gardens, this traditional finca has a sense of fun and is the perfect place to recharge and rejuvenate with family o
